HISTORY

In 1976, a parcel of land with an area of more or less 1971 square meter situated at Patria Village Subdivision, Brgy. Del Remedio, San Pablo City was donated by Mr. Florante A. Roque Jr. and Mr. Potenciano A. Roque, owner and manager of the said subdivision. It was passed and approved by the Charter of Sangguniang Bayan on September 6, 1976 and was accepted by the late Honorable Mayor Cezar P. Dizon, the incumbent mayor at that time. The said lot area was an open and a resident from the vicinityused it as pineapple plantation since the subdivision under develop and it lasted for almost 18 years.

It was in 1994; the idea of constructing new public school buildings in the rural areas was determined and established. This idea was triggered when the need of public school arises, when the Department of Education Culture and Sports (DECS) now Department of Education (DepEd) implemented a mass promotion in the elementary level which resulted for an increased number of enrollees in the secondary level for the next school year. Three public schools were operating during that period; the San Pablo City National High School (SPCNHS), the Cerilo Constantino Technological Institute (CCTI) and the San Pablo City National School of Arts and Trades (SPCNSAT) now Laguna State Polytechnic University, San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC). These schools were not able to accommodate the excessive number of enrollees, though those who belong in the middle class family went to private schools. Majority of the students live in the barrios which are far distant and inaccessible to the city due to rough & unconstructed roads during that time and it took a length of time to reach the city.

The construction of new public school in the rural areas in the eight barrios including SPCNHS-Annex IV were manifested and established under the administration of Honorable Mayor Vicente Amante early in 1995. The donated parcel of land mentioned in the first paragraph was the place where the high school building constructed. The lot area was reassessed by the city government for educational purposes and San Pablo City National High School   Annex IV (SPCNHS Annex IV) was built.

SPCNHS Annex IV started to operate in the school year 1995-1996 (same with 7 other schools) with a total number of 393 students. Headed by Mr. Luis Mendoza, who assigned Mrs. Marilou D. Bicomong, mathematics head as its Officer-In- Charge. The school has three (9.5m x 7.5m; 7.0m x 5m) rooms and a separate comfort rooms for boys and girls and a faculty room (7.5m x 3.30m). Additional buildings were constructed in 1997 under the Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) as a token of friendship between allied countries Japan and Philippines. The late Mr. Ely C. Flores was assigned as Teacher-In-Charge in 2004 since Mrs. Marilou D. Bicomong was promoted as mathematics supervisor. It was in the second year of Mr. Ely Flores’ service, the school has acquired its independency as one of the barangay national high school in San Pablo City. He was then succeeded by Miss Annie R. Ciabal in 2006. During her term as teacher-in-charge the school acquired 14 units of computers for ICT subject purposes, faculty comfort room and stage was constructed in 2007, and a two-storey building was added in the midst of 2008 as a rehabilitation project of the Local Government. Then in January 2009 she was replaced by Mrs. Laila R. Maloles installed as the school first principal but in a nine months time, she was promoted as principal III and was transferred to San Pablo City National High School (main.) Mr. Roldan T. Acuin took her place as the second principal of the school. Renovation of principal’s office, TLE laboratory, school canteen faculty comfort room and lavatory were made, construction of 2 additional lavatory for students use, additional 2 comfort room both for boys and girls (DPWH  coordinated project) and reconstruction of the clogged comfort room turned computer room were among the works done under his administration and supervision of Mr. Acuin.
